What is Patient Centered Care?

At BMS Patient centered care fosters strong relationships with patients and their families to better treat the whole person. Care teams improve patient care by catching problems early, focusing on prevention, wellness and management of chronic conditions.  Patient Centered Medical Homes are health centers that have been recognized by New York State for their commitment to providing high quality, patient-centered care.

BMS is a Federal Tort Claims Act approved facility.

BMS has Federal Public Health Service (PHS) status and is granted medical malpractice liability protection through the Federal Tort Claims Act (FTCA). Under the Act, the BMS Family Health and Wellness Centers and its covered individuals are considered Federal employees and are immune from lawsuits, with the Federal government acting as the primary insurer.
